Going Once asks students to wager points on their own confidence before they see whether they are right. It turns a routine quiz into a lesson about certainty as well as arithmetic.
Students wager points on how confident they are before they see whether their answer is right. Betting high on a wrong answer costs more than betting low, so the game rewards knowing what you actually know.
It suits students old enough to weigh a bet against their own confidence, which in practice means roughly Grade 5 upward. The questions themselves can be set at any level.
